We host 3 different types of events:
'Regular' Peer Rope evenings
Rope Jams
Workshop Weekends
These events are held monthly, usually the 4th Friday of every month.
Doors open at 19:30. The event starts at 20h and ends at 23:30. Check the calendar for any changes to the dates and times!
We always provide 'social spaces' where talking is allowed, but play is not. Tea, coffee, and snacks are provided in those areas. Snacks usually include vegan and gluten-free options. We love it when guests bring extra snacks to share, as generosity is one of our values!
Whenever possible we also provide a 'quiet space' where no play or talking is allowed. Talk to one of the team members if you need a quiet space. If no space is available, we encourage you to take a moment outside.
Regular Peer Rope evenings consist of three different parts:
Introduction Sessions
Themed Activities
Rope Jam
These sessions are aimed at newcomers to the community and people who have never tried shibari before. Team members will briefly explain their view on shibari and talk about consent, safety measures, and different rope types. Then we get some hands-on experience practicing basic ties and frictions you will need if you decide to explore further.
If you don't go to any classes provided by external teachers, we recommend following this workshop two or three times before moving on to the themed activities. The sessions will be taught by different team members who each bring their own focus, so you will not simply hear the same thing twice.
This session takes about 1.5h. You can stay for the rope jam afterwards to practice or get some inspiration for what you want to do with ropes in the future!
Every month, we provide a different activity. These activities can range from technical workshops to talks, discussion groups, themed jams, or fun games and challenges.
We heavily encourage community members to come up with their own ideas and organize their own activities! Talk to one of the team members or fill in this form to share your ideas and we will try to make it happen.
The activities take around 1.5h. The jam time starts when the themed activity ends.
We end every Peer Rope evening with a rope jam or 'free rope time' until 23:30. You can use this time to practice, enjoy a rope scene, or simply socialize with friends.
Safety monitors, recognizable by rainbow bowties, will be present to make sure our Code of Conduct is respected. If the safety monitors stop your scene, respect their decision and stop tying. You are welcome to ask for an explanation afterwards, but there will be no discussion. We do not stop scenes lightly.
We are currently still figuring out the new space. Precise locations in the house where certain types of atmosphere are created will be updated.
These events take place on the 2nd Friday of the month, every 2 months. Check the calendar for exact dates and times.
Doors open at 19h30 and the jam starts ar 20h. You can come and go any time. There might be a small introduction talk at 20h if the team has announcements, but otherwise these evenings are unstructured. The event ends at 23h30.
We provide spaces to tie, hardpoints and music. We are currently still figuring out the new space. Locations in the house where certain types of atmosphere are created will be updated. As with the regular events, social areas have snacks, coffee, tea, and good company. Quiet spaces are not usually available during these events.
Safety monitors will not be present during these events. Team members do have the authority to stop your ties if they deem what you are doing unsafe.
These events are more rare, but we certainly love them! We sometimes invite teachers for two days of workshops around a different theme.
Past weekends have included:
Nëya (CZE) & Kameko (CZE): workshops on tying uplines and TK's, improvised harnesses and comfortable suspensions;
Haag (NL) and Lies (BE): workshop on dynamic tying;
Asimira (NL) and Olivia (DE): workshop on aesthetic tying;
Alex Mino (FR) and Lies (BE): workshop on dynamic tying and 'unconventional' rope techniques.
Specifics around these weekends (location, timings, requirements, prices, ...) are usually shared at our events and/or through our Discord server.
